Hypertrophic contracture of scars are common sequelae seen in patients with severe bums.
These changes may impair the function and give the severe cosmetic problem, especially on face and neck. And, also the extensive other skin lesions on face and neck give a same cosmetic and functional problem.
So, functionally and aesthetically favorable way to remove extensive skin lesions on face and neck has long been sought.
Many traditional methods have been used, but, there was no method without undesirable aspects. The desirable methods are must;
be at least of as good quality as other traditional methods,
provide symmetry so far as color, texture, thickness, contour, functional movement, expression and vasomotor control are concerned.
The technique to be described has been used in 3 patients with scar contrature deformity on face and neck, extensive coal powder tattooing ion face and in our opinion gives results which are often better than may be achieved by any other form of treatment.
